FMP LAST DAY

Tomorrow if my hand in and I’m losing my “….”. The thing is, for some reason I thought that I have one more day, but no. I’ve done cross referencing, timetable,  2 proposals, bibliography and blog. This is my last post. All I still have to do is my evaluation and my trip week sketchbook, that I have not done for some reason and left it till last minute. So me. But it’s ok, I’ll buy a mini sketchbook and fill it in real quick. I already have all the information about the trips that I collected myself, it’s just going to be a bit time consuming. Overall, I’m glad that this is it. Time went super fast.

FMP LAST DAY

FMP final prepration

Today I decided to go over both of my proposals, especially the main one to make sure it connects to my project and everything that I have done. I also have to start writing my evaluation pretty soon, which is 1000 words. I don’t think that it will be a problem, because I know what to write about and I quiet enjoy writing. I have to buy one big folder in which I’m going to put my bibliography, C&CS essay, proposals etc.

Now since my final piece is done and my poster is done, all I have to do is make sure that all the other important stuff like bibliography and cross referencing is done too. My bibliography is mostly done, but I haven’t cross referenced anything yet. Also, I have to make sure that al of my blogs are up to date and my sketchbooks too. In my first sketchbook, there is only one page that is not done and it is from me experimenting with transfer inkjet paper. I have to include the other sample of the t-shirt and annotate it.

FMP final post

Today I got news. The photo that I decided to put out as my poster, has been seen by other tutors and I have been told that I have to change the photo because it’s too revealing and “sexy”. I mean yes that is true, but that was the goal! Apparently too much for the kinds…So unprofessional in my opinion, I can’t express myself, because some kid might go to the exhibition and see this photo. As if I was gonna destroy someones childhood. That was not my goal, friends. But anyway, I was given a choice of choosing another photo or do something with this one. Because I really like this photo, I wasn’t gonna give up, yet.

First, I tried putting other photo on this one, to cover up at least half of the model’s butt. Then, I though, maybe, I’d also put the logo that I did as well. I been doing all of this in Photoshop and that’s what I came up with:

To be honest, I don’t really like how it looks because it looks like I’m trying to cover something up really desperately and still failing at it. Then, I thought that maybe I could just write word CENSORED or something like this over the revealing area. Something like the Supreme logo but “Censored”. I wanted to make it in style too and I thought that glitch effect might look good. I looked up on the internet a youTube tutorial that will help me create this glitchy text effect, because I have no idea how to do it myself.

After about 40 minutes I was done. For the first time creating something like this I did really well. It was hard, but if anything this tutorial helped me understand how Photoshop work more and that’s never a bad thing.

the final/image text

It looks a bit weird, but I don’t have time to come up with something else. Then, I put this text over my photo to try and cover up what needed to be covered up and that’s the final image:

Of course I’d rather have the original, but because I’m still at college turns out I can’t do stuff like that, because it will “offend” someone. It’s alright, it will be different when I’m at uni. Overall, I’m happy with my poster.

FMP BOXES

My boxes and my stickers were delivered few days ago and I have started to decorate them. Instead of covering the whole box, I decided to cover only the lids, because I was scared that I’m gonna run out of stickers pretty quick. When I finished the first box, I was really satisfied with the outcome and was really glad I chose this way of decoration. Very colourful, “messy” and drags you attention straight away.  Today I have finished decorating all of them. I counted that for every box I’ve used maximum of 46-65 stickers per box/lid.

Then it was time to put my t-shirts, posters and stickers in.

On the two photos above, I showed how I folded the t-shirt. It actually fitted perfectly in the box. I wanted design to be right in the middle, so when anyone opens the box they don’t have to guess which t-shirt is which. Plus, I think my customer will really like other additional stuff that’s in the box like post card and a sticker. Overall, I’m more than satisfied with my final piece. I’m really glad that for the first time I finished it before the deadline.

FMP POSTER

Now it’s time to choose the photo I want to display on my poster. I can do it in a few ways, either chose one photo or choose a few that I like and make a layout in the InDesign. Firstly, I wanted to put a lot of photos on my poster, because I couldn’t chose which ones I liked the most. But then, I decided to just go with one photo. This is the photo that I chose for my poster.

I like this photo, because it directly shows what I’m trying to promote, you can clearly see the design at the back of the t-shirt. Besides really sexy fishnet tights, glossy black heels and beautiful long hair. I love everything about this photo and I’m really satisfied with it. I think it’s fully reflects the whole vibe of my label.

My tutor said that our posters will be A0 size, which is pretty big. All I had to do was to save it in Photoshop and make sure that the image size was enlarged to at least 300-500 pixels. Then, put it on a usb and give to my tutor.

FMP photo editing

I don’t know if what I want to say is relevant, but I’m gonna make it relevant. With years, whenever I did any kind of photography, more and more I start to like the original photo rather than the edited one. To be fair, I never liked to put up to 5 filters on the photo, but with time I don’t really want to edit them at all. And I’m trying to get to people that it is not because I’m lazy.  Same with these photos. I set down, send the chosen ones to my desktop, opened them in Photoshop and then…nothing. I was stuck. I opened the adjustments window and just started changing stuff to see if I’ll like my picture more. I didn’t. The only thing I would change would be brightness/contrast and saturation. That’s nothing. I was a bit angry that I had to do it, because if I don’t then I’m not gonna have any photo editing process and my mark will go down, I guess. All of this photoshop editing felt super useless, but I had to do it.

In my sketchbook, I decided not to put any photoshop screenshots, because everything I did after all was to add a but more sharpness to the photo and maybe like 5% darker. Oh and I did add a hint of green shadow here and there. Some of the photos I decided to make black & white and that was a really good decision, because I loved how the photos looked. They instantly had more character to them. Then, I just stuck the ones I “edited” in my sketchbook.

FMP sketchbook

Today I printed out contact sheets from my photoshoot to put in my sketchbook. In total, I think I had 370 photos. Overall, I think the photoshoot went pretty well, I’m really sad about the fact that I couldn’t do any polaroid photos. Whether it was the sun, or just my camera, I don’t know what was the problem. I thought you can take polaroids outside. Anyways, next, I should be choosing out of all my 370 photos the ones I want to edit and put in my final poster.

Quick short entry. Nothing major happened so far. My boxed that I ordered from Tiny Box Co should come today. And the stickers from Amazon should come tomorrow. Tomorrow I should be ready to start the decoration of the boxes. It shouldn’t take long.

The t-shirt that I used in my photoshoot are a bit creased now, because at the end of the photoshoot I was so tired I threw them in the bag and left them there for good few days, so they don’t look as neat anymore, that means I have to iron them and re-fold them neatly again. I will also have to see if everything I want to put in the box will actually fit there. I hope so. Also, this upcoming monday I have to print out my contact sheets.
